Hindi expr. meaning "Goddess of Peace"

The name of famous Norwegian author Axel Jensen’s, and his Indian wife Pratibha’s, schooner. They lived onboard for many years until 1990. The ship was built in 1905 at Sjötorps shipyard by lake Vänern in Sweden, named "Zeus", but later registered in Gibraltar as "S/Y Shanti Devi" under the Jensen's ownership.

"S/Y Shanti Devi" was originally built for cargo transport, and optimally dimensioned for passage through the Swedish canal system, Göta Canal, and for sailing the North Sea and the Baltic Sea.

In 1985 and 1986 this ship was the main base for planning and administration of Oslo International Poetry Festival in Oslo, Norway.
