Sherig-ool Dizizhikovich Oorzhak (born 1942) has been the President of the Republic of Tuva since April 11, 1992. He is currently serving his third five-year term, having been reelected last in 2002 with 53% of the vote.
On September 12, 2001, Oorzhak expressed his sympathy for the United States after the World Trade Center attacks. [link]
