Shima District, Mie

Shima (志摩郡; -gun) was a district located in Mie, Japan.
The District was dissolved on October 1, 2004 all five towns from Shima District merged to form Shima City, effectively turning the district into a city.
As of 2003, the district had an estimated population of 60,059 and a density of 334.35 persons per km². The total area was 179.63 km².
