Shin Hae Chul

Shin Hae Chul was born in Seoul, South Korea on May 6 1968. Shin is an avant-garde Korean pop music presence who could be best equated with John Lennon for his musical talent, constant experimentation, and uncompromising stance and attitudes.

Shin has been involved in many musical projects since the early 1990s. He has acted as musician, singer, and producer. Shin also hosts the popular Ghost Station, a late-night radio and television program. His fans call him "Mawang" (마왕).

Shin's many musical projects include N.EX.T, No Dance, Monocrom, and Wittgenstein. Shin's music serves up nearly every style conceivable. He was also involved with composing the soundtrack to the Korean release of Guilty Gear XX.

Shin Hae Chul disbanded N.EX.T. after their 4th studio album, , citing he has achieved everything he can with a band. He said if he involved himself in another band, he would drop his surname and change is name. He is sometimes cited as Crom in projects such as Monocrom, Wittgenstein, and with the current N.EX.T.
