Shubenacadie is a community located in Hants County, in central Nova Scotia, Canada. As of 2001, the population was 906.
Origin of name
In the Micmac language, Shubenacadie (or Segubunakade) means "abounding in ground nuts" or "place where the red potato (i.e. Indian potato, Sagittaria latifolia) grows."Famous residents
- Native American activist Anna Mae Aquash was born near Shubenacadie.
