Shuttle 2.01
Encyclopedia : S : SH : SHU : Shuttle 2.01
2.01 was the number of the third Soviet Shuttle Buran reusable space vehicles.
It is often suggested that 2.01 was to be named 'Baikal', and whether or not this was true, the joke involving the name has often led to a misconception that 2.01 did not exist. 2.01 definitely does exist, it is stored in Bahrain and, it has been announced, will be put on display in the Sinsheim Auto & Technik Museum, Germany. A note from them on July 4 2006 states some "legal and logistics" need to be finalized and they hope it will arrive soon.[[Citing sources citation needed]]
2.01's construction was not complete when the Buran program was ended, so it remains unfinished.
