Siân James is a Welsh traditional folk singer and harpist.
Siân was born in the village of Llanerfyl in Montgomeryshire, mid Wales. From an early age she took part in local eisteddfodau, playing the piano, the violin and later the harp. While still a student at Llanfair Caereinion High School, she began composing her own songs and arranging traditional Welsh music. Siân went on to read music at the University of Wales, Bangor.
Formerly recording on the Sain and BBC record labels, Siân now records much of her work at her home studio in Llanerfyl for her own label, Bos.
