Sichuan Airlines

Sichuan Airlines is an airline based in Chengdu in the People's Republic of China. It is a regional airline operating scheduled domestic services. Its main base is Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (CTU), Chengdu, with a hub at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport (CKG).
Code data
History
The airline was established on 19 September 1986 and started operations on 14 July 1988 with services between Chengdu and Wanxian. In August 2002 it was reorganised and the Sichuan Airlines Group, which is owned by the provincial government, became the major shareholder (40%). The other shareholders are China Southern Airlines (39%), Shandong Airlines (10%), Shanghai Airlines (10%) and Gingko Restaurant (1%). It employs 1,844 staff.

Sichuan Airlines operates services to the following domestic scheduled destinations (at January 2005): Beijing, Chengdu, Chongqing, Dalian, Fuzhou, Guangzhou, Guiyang, Haikou, Hangzhou, Jinan, Kunming, Nanchang, Nanjing, Nanning, Ningbo, Pan Zhi Hua, Sanya, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Shijiazhuang, Song Pan, Tongren, Wanxian, Xi'an, Xichang, Xining, Xuzhou and Yichang.

The Sichuan Airlines fleet consists of the following aircraft (at June 2005):

- 2 Airbus A321-200 (further 7 on order)
- 5 Embraer ERJ-145LR
Sichuan Airlines average fleet age is 6.3 years old in june 2006.
