Siebert Field

Encyclopedia : S : SI : SIE : Siebert Field

  1. Redirect Siebert Field is the on-campus stadium at the University of Minnesota where the Minnesota Golden Gophers baseball team currently plays. It is named in honor of Dick Siebert, who was perhaps the most celebrated baseball coaches in U of M history. In 2005, www.baseballreviews.com reported that this stadium has a 94% chance of being demolished in the next 5 years. The school is in the early stages of planing a replacement. If there is a gap between the demolition of Siebert Field and the construction of a new on-campus baseball park, the Gophers' games would likely be played at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, which is being vacated by the Minnesota Twins after the end of the 2009 baseball season.
