Sigma Phi

The Sigma Phi Society, founded on March 4, 1827 on the campus of Union College in Schenectady, New York is the second oldest Greek social fraternal organization in the United States. The Sigma Phi Society was the first Greek organization to establish a second chapter at another university, thus making it the first National Greek Organization.
Founders: Charles Thorne Cromwell of Mosquito Cove, New York, Thomas Fielders Bowie and his brother, John Thomas Bowie, both of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, and Thomas Sydenham Witherspoon of Greensboro, Alabama.
Sigma Phi is part of the Union Triad.
