Silambarasan

Silambarasan is one of the young and happening heroes in Kollywood. Known as Simbhu and Little Superstar among his fans, Simbhu is a multi-talented actor, frequently indulging in playback singing, apart from writing the script for movies, composing music and directing movies as well.

Film Career

Introduced into the film inductry by his father, veteran director T. Rajendar, he acted in several movies as a child artiste. His film career as a hero was also launched by his father through the movie Kadhal Alzhivathillai. However, he could not taste success easily and his initial movies as a hero were commercial failures. He had to work hard to earn success and a good reputation in Kollywood. With the success of his movie Manmadhan, he became one of the top heroes of his genre in Tamil Cinema. He was also a part of Mani Ratnam's stage show, Netru, Indru, Naalai.

Kuthu
The 2und hit by Silambarasan and ran for 100 days and also stars Ramya, Kalabhavan Mani. This film's score was composed by Srikanth Deva.

Manmadhan
The biggest hit and one of the best ever thrillers in Indian Cinema by Simbu who also did the story, screenplay and dialogue is a Jyothika and Silambarasan starrer. The film has item numbers by Mandhira Bedi and Yana Gupta. This film ran for about 275 days and is a thriller about a serial killer of women. The film`s score and songs are composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja and all the songs became chartbusters. Simbhu plays a dual role in this film. His clever screenplay received much critical acclaim.

Thotti Jaya
This is an action thriller directed by V. Z. Durai and stars Gopika and Simbu set against the background of Chennai's mafia dons and rowdies. In this film Simbu sports a beard and black dress throughout the film.

Saravana
Again an Action and Violent Village Drama by veteran director K.S.Ravikumar stars Jyothika, Simbu, Prakash Raj and Vivek. The film was a remake of the Telugu hit - Bhadra and met with moderate success.
