Silesian Central Park, also known as General Jerzy Ziętek Park, is a recreation complex in the Katowice and Chorzów districts of Metropolian Katowice, in Silesia, Poland. It was founded in the 1960s as a popular community center for sports, arts, and recreation.
Area: 620 ha
In the park may be found:
- Silesian Stadium
- Silesian Planetarium
- Silesian Zoological Garden
- Silesian Amusement Park
- Upper Silesian Ethnographic Park
- Katowice International Trade Hall
- the swimming-pool complex
- the water sports center
- tennis courts
- the rose-garden
- The Technical Progress Centre
- a hotel complex which includes the Polish Tourist-Country Lovers' Association, the Polish Scouts' Association centre, restaurants, cafes and many show pavilions where flower shows and other exhibits are held.
