Silingi

The Silings or Silingi (Latin: Silingae, Greek Σιλίγγαι - Siliggai) were an East Germanic tribe living somewhere in Cenral Europe, and later a subdivision of the Vandals.

According to Klaudius Ptolemeus the Silingi lived in what was once called Magna Germania, south of the Suebi-Semnones between middle Elbe and upper Weser rivers.

Next They where part of the migratory movements of the Vandals, into the Iberian peninsula and later on to North Africa.

Controversial ties to

Some 19th century and modern writers connect the Silingi to the region of Silesia, in the southern part of Poland and the northern region of the Czech Republic.
