Simon Posford is an electronic musician who is one of the most recognized and respected artists in the genre of psytrance. Based in the United Kingdom, Simon Posford has been producing electronic music since the 1990s using a handful of pseudonyms, most notably Hallucinogen and Shpongle. He has been involved in at least twenty different groups.
In 1995, Posford released the album Twisted, widely considered a masterpiece of the genre. The follow-up, 1997's The Lone Deranger, was a worthy successor and his last full album under the Hallucinogen alias.
From then on, Posford ventured into notable collaborations with artists like Raja Ram (Shpongle), Martin Glover (Celtic Cross) and Benji Vaughan (Younger Brother). Though pooling his talent from a host of worldly influences, many of his fans will attest that he has the "Posford touch", a certain unmistakable quality to the sound of his music, and is revered by psychedelic and electronic enthusiasts from around the world.
Simon is co-owner of Twisted Records UK.
