Simran Nawal (b.April 4,1976), known professionally as Simran, is an Indian film actress. She was born in Mumbai and made her debut in the Hindi film Tere Mere Sapne. She later on moved south to the Tamil movie industry and Telugu movie industry where she established herself as an actress of repute. Her notable films include Kanannethere Thondrinal, Vaali and Kannathil Muthamittal.
Simran is a veratile dancer and can perform Bharatanatyam with the same ease as she performs Salsa. She can change expressions quickly and has a photogenic face. She is famous for he hip-shaking and dances in a titillating and sensual way. She speaks Punjabi, Tamil, Hindi and English.
On December 2nd 2004, she married Deepak Bagga, a childhood friend. She gave birth to a boy on June 13, 2005 and currently resides in Delhi. She has taken an extended break from acting since her marriage.
