Singapore Broadcasting Corporation
Encyclopedia : S : SI : SIN : Singapore Broadcasting Corporation
The Singapore Broadcasting Corporation, colloquially referred simply as SBC, was a partially privatised mass market media conglomeration, which dominated the entire television and most of the radio broadcasting industry in Singapore during its existence. Prior to the liberalisation of the broadcasting industry, SBC holds a virtualised monopoly in Singapore in the broadcasting industry.
SBC had since became the Television Corporation of Singapore (TCS) under a privatisation exercise in 1994, and subsequently MediaCorp in 2001 after the SIM Group of Companies becomes the Media Corporation of Singapore (MediaCorp) in 1999.
