Skauch
Encyclopedia : S : SK : SKA : Skauch
Skauch is an EP release by the Swedish punk rock group Millencolin. It was released on July 23, 1994, and the songs (with the exception of "The Einstein Crew") were included in the 1999 compilation album The Melancholy Collection. Originally supposed to be a single to Tiny Tunes, the band decided to record additional cover songs and included those as well.
The album cover prominently features a yellow bird that has appeared on a number of other Millencolin albums. In addition, a circular "Millencolin Skauch" logo appears in the upper right corner. This logo was a rip off of the logo of Foundation, a skateboarding company.
They made one interesting change to the lyrics of "Knowledge". At the end of the original song by Operation Ivy, that lyrics are "And that's fine!". However, in this version, Nikola replace's "that's" with something that sounds like "Hansley's". In live concerts at the Hultsfred Festival in 2000 and 2002, he replaced it with "Hultsfred's", so he could be referencing some person or place.
In addition, the track "That's Up To Me" closes with a kazoo rendition of "Are you sleeping?", followed by an audience clapping and the musician saying "Tack", which is Swedish for "Thank you".
