Sky & Telescope
Encyclopedia : S : SK : SKY : Sky & Telescope
Sky & Telescope is a monthly magazine providing articles and information on all aspects of astronomy, space exploration, telescope equipment, and amateur telescope making and use. The articles are intended for the lay reader, but are not overly simplified. It is lavishly illustrated in full color, with both amateur and professional photography of celestial sights, as well as tables and charts of upcoming celestial events.
The Sky & Telescope magazine began publication in 1941, as the result of the merger of the separate magazines, The Sky and The Telescope. It is published by the Sky Publishing Corporation. The magazine often includes equipment reviews that are informative, and its advertisements are a useful source for locating purveyors of telescope equipment for amateur astronomers.
