SKY News Australia is Australia's only dedicated news channel. The channel is owned by Publishing and Broadcasting Limited, the Seven Network, and British Sky Broadcasting, each with a one third stake in the company.
The channel is only available via pay television in Australia on Foxtel, Austar and Optus TV.
Sky News is also broadcast in New Zealand and is largely similar to the Australian service, although some local programming is inserted. The service is available on SKY's digital satellite TV service, which previously carried Sky News UK.
On May 1st 2006, Sky News went through an extensive relaunch. Along with new studios came new graphics, programs and line-up. Sky News is expected to launch it's widescreen service and a new news ticker in late June 2006.

Presenter line-ups and some programming is expected to change May 1, 2006 when Sky News Australia relaunches. A new set and graphics package will also be unveiled - bringing the presentation of the channel in line with that of Sky UK.

Sky News Australia New Zealand
Sky News Australia New Zealand is broadcast on Sky Digital in New Zealand, but the channel does not include the 'active' services available in Australia.Local programming includes a twice-weekly current affairs programme called William Upfront, hosted by radio announcer Larry Williams. Free to air station TV3 also provide a news bulletin at 8:30pm local time every night. When Parliament is sitting, TVNZ's One News provides coverage of Question Time. During the General Election in 2005, Sky News Australia New Zealand broadcast televised coverage of the Radio New Zealand Leader Debates and post-debate commentary from radio announcer Mike Hosking.
Sky News Active
With the roll-out of Foxtel Digital, Sky News Australia launched the Sky News Active interactive news service. The service offers a choice of eight news screens, which vary depending on the days news or events. Some common choices of screens include:
