SKY News Australia is Australia's only dedicated news channel. The channel is owned by Publishing and Broadcasting Limited, the Seven Network, and British Sky Broadcasting, each with a one third stake in the company.

The channel is only available via pay television in Australia on Foxtel, Austar and Optus TV.

Sky News is also broadcast in New Zealand and is largely similar to the Australian service, although some local programming is inserted. The service is available on SKY's digital satellite TV service, which previously carried Sky News UK.

On May 1st 2006, Sky News went through an extensive relaunch. Along with new studios came new graphics, programs and line-up. Sky News is expected to launch it's widescreen service and a new news ticker in late June 2006.
