Slaves Going Single
Encyclopedia : S : SL : SLA : Slaves Going Single
During 2000, GWAR wasn't doing much of anything - Casey Orr (Beefcake the Mighty) and Zach Blair (Flattus Maximus) returned to Texas to work on side projects, and some of the slaves worked on individual art projects. The Total Slavery Fan Club, run by Brad Roberts (Jizmak Da Gusha), frequently offered premium items, unavailable to others, including the Slave Pit Singles, a series of rare GWAR studio sessions and side projects not found on their Metal Blade releases. In 2000, Slave Pit collected a number of these songs, and printed its own Slaves Going Single album. It was extremely rare from the beginning, having only 1000 copies printed. It is very hard to find, and eBay auctions often end in the hundreds of dollars. Highlights include: "Drop Drawers," a track that was partially on Carnival of Chaos, but never released in its entirety for legal reasons; "The Needle," which is the first GWAR song with Balsac singing (later released as "Escape From The Mooselodge" on We Kill Everything, with Oderus singing); and "My Dog, My Truck, And Prison" (the song heard in Phallus In Wonderland, while Corporal Punishment is offering his testimony about stealing the Cuttlefish of Cthulu).
