Sloan (Inheritance)

Sloan is a fictional character in Christopher Paolini's Inheritance Trilogy. He is Carvahall's butcher.
Role in Eragon
In Eragon, Sloan refuses to accept Eragon's stone as payment for meat, because it came from the Spine, which he considers an evil place - his wife met her end there, years before, by falling off the Igualda Falls.Sloan is the father of Katrina, Roran's love interest.
Sloan also told the Ra'zac about the blue stone Eragon found in the Spine, leading them to attack Garrow's farm. Seeing as he also betrayed the whole town to the Ra'zac in Eldest, he might be considered one of the reasons that the villagers had to abandon Carvahall.
Role in Eldest
In Eldest, Sloan kills Byrd, and after betraying his fellow villagers to the Empire, is kidnapped along with Katrina, by the Ra'zac.
