Slob is an adjective. A slob person is usually considered irresponsible in terms of any kind of work.

History

Slob comes from slogan, that comes from smashing, that comes from 's math sin, which means in Scottish Gaelic basically: that is good.

Some stories (out of English language) point out that a person called John Slob from some factory in England, during the Industrial Revolution, would always be late to work even while that could cost his life. No researches or actual facts ever matched this.
