Slovenska Bistrica is a town and a municipality south of Maribor, Slovenia. City of Slovenska Bistrica was established in 13th century on crossroad beetwen Maribor and Celje. Firsty it was like a willage with church and small amount of inhabitants but then Slovenska Bistrica soon gained rights for market square in 1313. City was firstly called only Bistrica, name Slovenska Bistrica appeared in 1565. During the Hapsburg rule SLovenska Bistrica was also called Windisch-Feistritz (German). Nowdays Slovenska Bistrica is a town with around 7000 inhabitants and number is constantly growing. City offers a lot of interesting sights like Castle, two churches, Roman road, Ančnikovo fort (from Roman times) and more.
As a municipality it unites several small towns and villages, including:
