Sniper in this context is a character class (job) in Final Fantasy Tactics Advance.
Sniper is the Viera's advanced bombardier class, capable of damaging the enemy from a distance with powerful bow attacks. It is acquired for use by mastering two Archer A-Abilities. The Sniper class boasts high attack stats and a strong growth rate. The moveset is known as Sharpshoot, and consists of various abilities that hit from a range to induce damage and status effects. The infamous Doom Archer attack is a Sniper ability, which attacks the target's HP and MP for damage taken by the Sniper.
The story character Shara is a Sniper when she encounters you during the middle and endgame, and also one when she joins your clan (optional).
Equipment: Snipers equip Greatbows, Clothes, and Hats. They cannot wield Shields, because all Bows are 2-handed weapons.
