Snuff Hardcore is a satirical term that refers to the contemporary status of hardcore and metalcore culture. Taking step away from the original concepts of hardcore involving social awareness and a particularly left perspective, the 'snuff hardcore' movement delineates the hardcore and metalcore scene are general portrayed in a morbid sense, adapting themes such as murder, blood, suicide and weapons associated with inflicting death.

The snuff hardcore movement is often perceived as a threat towards the hardcore and metalcore cultures, particularly as it inadvertedly denounces its subcultures, such as straight edge movement and the tattooing culture. However, at present the movement is only of a minute following to rupture or threaten the cultures.
