As mentioned in the Eponymous liner notes, the song was performed on Late Night with David Letterman in 1983 before it even had a title.
Michael Stipe chose to sing his vocals for the video live.
The song was placed on R.E.M.'s first I.R.S. Records greatest hits album Eponymous in 1988.
