SoccerProject was released in 2004 as a free online soccer management game, with thousands of active managers from over 160 countries playing in 14 different languages. A player becomes the manager of a soccer club and is responsible for everything within the club (roster, staff, stadium, etc.). League games are played every weekday, except for Wednesdays when cup games are played.

The game is web-based, but real-life meetings are organized by the community to give managers a chance to get to know each other. Apart from the website there are also desktop tools available to analyze the player's team offline, one of these is the SoccerProject Management Tool.
