Soebandrio

Soebandrio (1914-2004) was secretary general of the Indonesian Republic in the 1940s. He later became Minister of Foreign Affairs for Indonesia in the 1960s and served under Sukarno until 1966, when Sukarno left power.

He was known by one name, an Indonesian custom. He was a Communist in Indonesia and was connected to a 1965 mutiny that killed a number of generals. Soebandrio was tried and was given a death sentence in 1966. He served until 1995 when he was released for bad health.

He died July 3, 2004 in Jakarta.
