SEA
Soluble Egg Antigen is very important to schistosomiasis research. The SEA seems to be responsible for the ability of the schistosomiasis egg, which has a sort of horn-like or spike-like structure on its forward surface, to successfully implant itself in the wall of the intestines, bladder system, genitals, brain tissue or wherever in the body it may come to live.
The cell chemistry of schistosomiasis is important in describing how the cercariae navigate in the water and enter the skin. Cell chemistry including that of soluble egg antigen is important to the successful propagation of the schistosomiasis insects and eggs within the host body.
