Soul Train Music Awards

The Soul Train Music Awards is an annual award show aired on various television networks in national syndication that honors the best in Black music and entertainment. It features musical performances by various R & B and hip hop musicians, as well as special award honorees. The show is held at Paramount Pictures Studios in Los Angeles, California.
Soul Train Music Awards voting body includes active professionals in the fields of radio station programming, retail sales and management and recording artists with records that reach one or more music trade publication charts during the past one year eligibility period.
In the past the show has had such legendary R&B host as Luther Vandross, Patti LaBelle, Will Smith, Vanessa Williams, and Gladys Knight.
Janet Jackson holds the record for the most Soul Train Awards won, followed by her brother Michael Jackson and pop singer Whitney Houston.
