The South Melbourne Football Club is the former name of the Victorian Football League (now known as the Australian Football League) team now known as the Sydney Swans.
The club joined the VFL in 1897 and played its home games at the Lake Oval in Albert Park, Victoria prior to its relocation to Sydney in 1982.
