Southeast Michigan
Encyclopedia : S : SO : SOU : Southeast Michigan
Southeast Michigan is a region in the Lower Peninsula of the U.S. state of Michigan that is home to a majority of the state's residents, businesses, and industries. Much of this region coincides with Metro Detroit, though Southeast Michigan is generally thought to encompass a larger geographical area - particularly for those who believe that the Detroit area consists merely of the three counties of Wayne, Oakland and Macomb.
The Southeast Michigan Council of Governments (SEMCOG) defines Southeast Michigan as Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair, Washtenaw, and Wayne counties.
