Southeastern University is a private, Christian, non-profit undergraduate and graduate institution of higher education located in Lakeland, Florida in the USA. It was established in 1935 as a Bible college, and became a liberal arts college in 1970. The University has formerly been known as South-Eastern Bible Institute (1935-1956), South-Eastern Bible College (1956-1977), and Southeastern College of the Asseblies of God (1977-2005). It is still affiliated with the Assemblies of God, a Protestant, Pentecostal denomination.

Over 2,300 students enrolled at Southeastern for the 2005-2006 school year, representing 46 states and 20 foreign countries. Over 20% of our students are ethnic minorities. Students come from varied academic backgrounds. Before enrolling at Southeastern, students have attended public, private and Christian schools; others have been homeschooled. They come from a variety of denominations, though approximately 70% are from an Assemblies of God background. The top states represented are Florida, Ohio, Alabama, North Carolina, and Georgia.

Southeastern offers 40 programs leading to bachelor's and master's degrees, now including an MBA. All students are required to complete 54 hours of general education course work in addition to their major. The school is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

The president of Southeastern is Dr. Mark Rutland, a highly sought after speaker and author who also hosts a daily syndicated Christian radio program called Herald of Joy.
