Space4k is an online Real-time strategy game rather similliar to Ogame in many aspects, it is set up out in space and the player starts with one planet where he or she may create different buildings to increase the planet's production of resources, after a while the player is able to send out colony ships and thus take control of more planets.
The major difference between space4k and Ogame is that in Ogame you benefit in attacking other players, taking the debris from their ships and re-using it yourself. In space4k you can't take the debris from any destroyed ships, and may only benefit on raiding if the player you attack has a great deal of resources on his planet. You can, however protect your resources by building storage, and for each level of storage you build you increase the amount of resources you have "safely stored", meaning any attacking player is unable to get it. This means that in space4k you benefit more in using a diplomatic strategy where you try to form an empire with several planets over the universe. As long as you have good storage you can keep increasing your production, rather than building ships and defensive structures. Since not so many players use this tactic, some argue that raiding actually pays off.
Buildings
Headquarter: Upgrading the Headquarters building decreases the production time of all other buildings. If the headquarters building is not upgraded repeatedly it will take an extremely long time for other buildings to be finished. There is no way to decrease the time it takes to upgrade the headquarters building after each upgrade. This may be seen as a paradox, but it wouldn't work out very well if the headquarters building decreased its own production time (for obvious reasons). Some players have however mentioned the possibility to get some kind of research to hasten the upgrade.Research Laboratory: This building is required if you want to research different technologies. For each upgrade of the laboratory you can research faster. When you have the building, click research in the menu bar and there you can see all technologies you are currently able to research. A bit further down you can click on techtree (also in the menu bar). In here you can see what you need to be able to research new technologies, and also what you get for researching them.
Iron Mine: This building is, by far, the most important in the entire game. With each upgrade of it you increase your iron production. Iron is required for almost all buildings, ships, defensive structures and technologies.
Lutinum Raffinery: With each upgrade of this building you increase your lutinum production. Lutinum is almost as important as iron, but you should always keep the level of your iron mine above the level of your lutinum raffinery or else you will probably not be able to use it all.
Drilling rig: With each upgrade of the drilling rig you get a better income of water, this is one of your minor concerns as most players tend to get more water whatever they do. Water is used to produce hydrogen which is explained below.
Chemical plant: The chemical plant transforms water into hydrogen which is used mainly as fuel to your ships, but it's also used to perform research and to build certain constructions.
Enhanced chemical plant: The same thing as an ordinary chemical plant, but it transforms water at a faster rate. This building is very expensive to upgrade.
Iron storage: Each upgrade increases the amount of iron you can have on your planet. Some of it is also "safely stored" from attacking players which means they can't take it.
Lutinum storage: Just as an iron storage but for lutinum.
Water tanks: Just as an iron storage but for water.
Hydrogen tank: Just as an iron storage but for hydrogen.
Shipyard: Required to build ships, which are produced faster with each upgrade. A good level on your shipyard is extremely important when building colony ships.
Orbital defense station: Here you build all defence towers, as with the shipyard the construction time is lowered with each upgrade.
Planetary shield: Improves your defence towers.
Fusion Powerplant: Required to build the planetary shield.
Ships
Shakal Cheap but weak scout class battleship. Armed with 2 lasers
Renegade Scout-class ship. Armed with 3 lasers and enhanced Jackal plating.
Darwin Well-plated ship used for different purposes. Commonly used for boarding of planets benefiting from its large cargo bay.
Raider Raiders are a hybrid class between heavy fighters and destroyers. Armed with 8 light and 2 heavy lasers. The five-leveled aczentrine plating even withstands plasma attacks.
Colony ship Expansion is essential sooner or later. Founding new colonies to gather resources and military interests are some of the reasons. Colonyships are equipped with a command center level 1.
Espionage probe Fast, unmanned ship used to explore planets.
Tjuger Tjugars are well-equipped for space combat and have earned a good reputation during numerous battles.
Cougar Armed with two lasertowers and a plasmagun it is a perfect ship used for orbital defense patrols. The Cougar is a good addition to the defense of large battleships.
Trader Trading is essential to stabilize economy and to supply your colonies. Transporters are always needed to transport these from one planet to another.
Transporter These larger versions of transporters can carry more cargo and are equipped with a faster propulsion system.
Camouflage bomber Camouflage technolgy is making this ship essential for battle. These bombers can get close to the enemy without being detected.
Longeagle V Thanks to its masive weaponry only little people are known seeking battle with them. Thir plating makes it even harder to defeat.
Noah Enhanced transporter version. Fastest known ship able to carry enormous loads of cargo. Its price is not less enormous..
Longeagle X The cruiser is the latest model of its class. Weakpoints were improved and development made it the most dangerous ship known.
Spit This ship was once serving the emperor only. Its potential and flexibility is legendary known to be the backbone of fleets since the Coljinarz Wars (2167-2175).
Sentih This ship has its origin in an unknown dimension. It was possibly brought to us thousands of years ago . Scientists believe that it was used to explore the galaxy and its weapon systems are far more developed than ours. Fortunately we are able to reproduce it.
Alliances
There are many alliances in space4k, some are only containing elite players whilst some are "mass alliances" which accepts any player that applies. Mass alliances are however not very effective due to poor communication and such, therefore most alliances set a maximum number of members that they accept.The only real mass alliance in the game was Space-Rebels (SR). Recently, however, this alliance has fallen into chaos. The founder has removed all administrators and has now gone inactive. It appears that they will not become a powerhouse. They once had well over 100 members but they lost many members and finally disbanded. The fall of [SR] marks the end to the major mass alliances, none have risen to take its place.
WRAITH
Wraith is presently the strongest alliance in the game. They are made up of several strong players. The leader "Zamm" is a reasonable chap and they have diplomatic views similar to the Imperials and the Imperial Guard. WRAITHS have adopted the alliance Good2Go [G2G] as an academy alliance. Good2Go has a feeder alliance called 10kwanabees.THE IMPERIAL UNION
There is also a group of alliances that has formed a closer co-operation, they call themselves The Imperial Union. The alliance to start it all was The Imperials (IMP), as the alliance was founded early in the game it quickly got stronger and they soon reached their maximum number of members set to 30. They then chose to create a faction they called The Imperial Guard (IMP_G). Other alliances wanted to co-operate closer and they decided to form a union, note that all other alliances in the union are self-governing, and to make things work they formed a council with representatives from each part of the union to talk about matters that concerned them all. The main reason the union was formed was that all the alliances in it wanted to be part of something big, but not a mass alliance.Some facts about the major alliances in the game:
The Imperials (IMP) The second strongest alliance of The Imperial Union, their leader The Immortal Emperor (his in-game name is however ImmortalEmperor) is also the mastermind of the entire union. The Right-Hand in the alliance is Antonius, who has recently been less active due to limited internet access. Typhonous is the Right-Hand for [IMP_G] and another important player who has been praised for his diplomatic abilities which are critical for survival in space4k. Recognisable figures of the IMP union - Immortal Emperor, Antonius, Dragonmaster, Logan, Typhonous, Redroth Firewall and Tigerlead.
Info about the leaders: TIE, leader of the union. He is known for his eccentric behavior, and his desire to avoid conflict. Logan, leader of ]IMP_G], known as one of the most honorable players of the game. His loyalty is unquestioned. Dragonmaster, leader of [FD.IMP]. A very intelligent and even-tempered player with fierce loyalty.
