The word spark has several meanings:
- In electricity, "spark" usually refers to a momentary electrostatic discharge across a spark gap. It can also refer to a continuous electric arc or a corona discharge.
- A spark may be a small airborne or particle of glowing, hot metal from a fire, grinding machine, the heat from an electric spark as above, the impact of flint and steel, or the like.
