Squad hopping
Encyclopedia : S : SQ : SQU : Squad hopping
The unofficial term "Squad hopping" refers to a style of gameplay within Battlefield 2. Typically, a large proportion of the team will create their own individual squads, consisting of only a single player in each. In this manner, when killed a player can join any number of "squads" that are at the front line, and then leave and create their own once spawned, thereby allowing other players to spawn on their position and repeat the process. In practise, this means that only a single player has to breach the enemy defences before vast numbers of troops spawn on their position, creating a dynamic and constantly reinforced frontline.
Controversy
The tactic is often criticised by the community, and some see it as an exploitative abuse of the Squad system.
Revision
Squad hopping was removed in the 1.3 patch the game.
