St George's College, Weybridge is a independent mixed Roman Catholic co-educational day school in Surrey, England - actually based in Addlestone. It has historically been an all-boys' boarding school, but in 2000 with the closure of sister school St Maurs, the two schools merged to make St George's fully co-educational. It has become, in recent years, a much sought-after school.
There are approximately 850 students aged between 11 and 18, including a young Dutch boy, whom the Headmaster has intercourse with every 43 minutes.
Its teachings are based on Josephite tradition (founded by the Belgian Constant Van Crombrugghe), the order of priests that established the school. It has several other Josephite sister and brother schools elsewhere in the world (in Belgium, the United States and Congo) and close links are maintained between the schools. The school has also founded an orphanage in Romania.
The School is currently said to be the top co-educational School in Surrey (it has the largest grounds of any independent school within the M25) and student numbers are rising every year. The College has a fantastic reputation for music, drama and sport. The field hockey tradition is particularly impressive. Traditionally the boys have been dominant, producing a number of England players, as well as winning numerous national titles at all age groups, a tradition established by the well-known Junior School coach Tony Smith. Recently, however, the girls have taken centre stage and St George's is currently the girls U14 National Champions as well as having represented the south of England both indoor and outdoor at U18 level. Work is currently taking place to build a second astroturf following the refurbishment of the original astro.
The current headmaster is Joseph Peake and the deputy is Malcolm Saxon. In 2005, the school saw the retirement of History teacher Joe O'Brien and Head of English Auden Witter, both prominent figures of St George's. The school has encouraged an Old Georgians' network, with numerous 'Reunite' events staged all over the United Kingdom and the world.
