Star Fox Command is the next game in Nintendo's Star Fox game series bound for the Nintendo DS. It was announced at the E³ 2006 conference and no information was given other than small videos of gameplay. It is also the first Star Fox game for a handheld, and is set for release on August 28, 2006.

Story

According to Nintendo Power, the story takes place sometime after the events of . The once thought to be barren planet of Venom had apparently undiscovered acidic oceans. Within these waters lurks a new danger known as the Anglor race. The leader of the Anglor race plans on destroying the Lylat System, which Fox and crew must save once again.

First revealed in Famitsu, and later in Nintendo Power, new changes to the storyline as follows:

The Star Fox team broke up, but is then re-assembled to fight the new threat
Peppy went off to become a General
Fox broke up with Krystal so she would not be in danger
Slippy gets a girlfriend (as told in Famitsu).

Features

More than 15 characters and more than 30 missions will be playable.
There will be multiplayer co-op and competitive game modes for up to four players on the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection or eight players locally.
The player can plan his and her wingmates' routes using the touch screen.
Similar to the cancelled game Star Fox 2, each wingman apppears to have his/her own unique spacecraft.
Boosts and loops will be performed by touching virtual buttons on the touch screen.
Confirmed playable characters are Fox, Falco, Krystal and Slippy. It is also hinted that there will be an assortment of new playable characters as well, but thus far only one possibility has been revealed: a female rabbit character, similar in appearance to Peppy (In the screen it said "Sky Bunny" was the name of her aircraft). A Wolfen is also revealed to be playable.
