STARFLEET Command is an international Star Trek fan association that claims a world-wide membership dedicated to the Star Trek television and movie series. It serves members on three continents, called Quadrants, located in the U.S., the UK and Asia.
STARFLEET Command (capitalized to distinguish it from the fictional Starfleet Command of the Star Trek Universe) traces its existence to the USS Enterprise Fan Club started by a group of friends located in Lufkin, Texas in 1974. In 1982, due to a lack of communication within the leadership, STARFLEET Command was taken over by Eric A. Stillwell and changed its name to just STARFLEET (See STARFLEET International). However, a year later STARFLEET Command President and Chief of Staff, John Wetsch, citing later that the club was never legally turned over to Stillwell, reclaimed the leadership (as unbroken) and re-established STARFLEET Command. This is the fan association that continues today. Their Headquarters is located in Indiana.
There have been eight (8) known presidents of STARFLEET Command with the first four shared by STARFLEET International:
