Starscream

Encyclopedia : S : ST : STA : Starscream

This article is about the programmer. For the fictional Transformers character, see Starscream.
Dan Goldstein aka StarScream was a principal coder for the pioneering U.S. based demogroup Renaissance. Based in New York City, he worked closely with the well known tracker C.C.Catch (aka Kenny Chou). He was responsible for bringing 8 and 32 channel trackers to the PC with the release of the Composer 669 and MultiTracker module editors. He improved the PC demo scene with the contemporary Amiga editor OctaMed and then surpassed it. He also produced the first editor to support the Gravis Ultra Sound. Both of his trackers were supplanted by formats such as Scream Tracker III and Fast Tracker 2.
