State Road 809 (Florida)

Encyclopedia : S : ST : STA : State Road 809 (Florida)

Locally known as Military Trail, Florida State Road 809 and Palm Beach County Road 809 almost span the entire Palm Beach County as a four- or six-lane divided highway which, like the nearby similar north-south State Roads 811 and 845, serves the dual purposes of commuting alternatives to Florida's Turnpike and Interstate 95 (SR 9).

The current northern terminus of SR 809 is an intersection with West Blue Heron Boulevard (SR 708) in Riviera Beach (while Military Trail continues northward as Palm Beach Country Road 809 another 10 miles north, to the historic north terminus, an intersection with Indiantown Road, SR 706, in Jupiter); the southern terminus of SR 809 is an intersection with Lake Worth Road (SR 802) in Greenacres (a section of Military Trail from Lake Worth Road to Palmetto Park Road/SR 798 in Boca Raton was converted from SR 809 to CR 809 by 2004).

Military Trail continues southward into Broward County (without FDOT or County designation) until its southern terminus at Sample Road (SR 834), which serves as the boundary between Deerfield Beach and Pompano Beach.
