The word stay has more than one meaning:-
- An item of ship's gear: see nautical term and stays (nautical).
- A guy-wire, used to support a radio mast.
- A component in a steam locomotive firebox
- An alternative word for bone, meaning a piece of stiffening used in clothing: see Bone (corsetry). Also, before the Victorian period, the plural form "stays" was the most commonly-used word for corset in English.
- A court order requiring that a party refrain from a certain action until the court has time to consider a matter.
- Stay, a 2005 film by Marc Forster.
- "Stay", a song by Shakespear's Sister
- "Stay", a song by David Bowie
- "Stay", a song by The Zodiacs, later covered by Jackson Browne
- "Stay", a song by Ne-Yo
- Stay, a album by Jeremy Camp.
