Stefansson Island

Stefansson Island is a Canadian arctic island in Nunavut, Canada. Located at 73°20'N 105°45'W, it measures 4 463 km² in area. It has shores on both Viscount Melville Sound to the north and the M'Clintock Channel to the east. It lies just off Victoria Island's Storkerson Peninsula, separated therefrom by the Goldsmith Channel. Stefansson Island's greatest elevation is 290 m.
The island is named after the Canadian explorer Vilhjalmur Stefansson (1879-1962).
