Stephen Rademaker

Stephen Rademaker is the Acting Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation within the State Department of the United States.
Education
Rademaker attended the University of Virginia where he received a B.A. (1981), a J.D. (1984), and a M.A. in Foreign Affairs (1985). He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa during his time at the university.Previous positions
Prior to his current position, he served in a variety of Chief Counsel positions within the Committee on International Relations of the House of Representatives beginning in 1993. He also served as General Counsel to the Peace Corps in the early 1990s. Under the first Bush administration, Rademaker served as legal adviser to the National Security Agency and as associate counsel to the President. During the late 1980s, he served in positions related to international trade and foreign affairs. Before these roles, he served as a law clerk to James L. Buckley, and as an associate in a private law firm in Washington, D.C..External links
