Notes

Recorded in 1975 this album produced at least three hits, the title track, "My Little Town", and "50 Ways To Leave Your Lover." It is regarded by some as the artist's last great recording, with only Graceland coming close to its equal[[Citing sources citation needed]], whereas Graceland was even more commercially successful. It won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year in 1976, as did Graceland in 1987.

The liner notes for "My Little Town" contain this quote from "Crow" by Ted Hughes:

To hatch a crow, a black rainbow
Bent in emptiness
:over emptiness
But flying
Simon credits studio drummer Steve Gadd with creating the unique drum beat that became the hook for "50 Ways To Leave Your Lover".
