Straight Ahead (Amy Grant album)
Encyclopedia : S : ST : STR : Straight Ahead (Amy Grant album)
Straight Ahead was a 1984 (see 1984 in music) album by CCM star Amy Grant. It was the follow-up to Amy's ground-breaking 1982 album Age to Age. It produced the Grammy-award winning single "Angels" (a #1 Contemporary Christian single for 13 weeks), and its aggressive contemporary Christian pop sound became a precursor to Amy's even more aggressive 1985 album Unguarded.

Trivia
- The album track "It's Not A Song" is Amy Grant's first song from her own pen with no religious theme whatsoever. It was also the first song in which she shot a music video for.
- Straight Ahead was the first Christian album to chart on the Billboard pop album chart. A&M reissued it in 1985, just as Amy was appearing on the Grammy awards show singing "Angels."
