Stranger Than Fiction (1994) was Bad Religion's last album with Brett Gurewitz (until their reunion on The Process of Belief), and the first on the Atlantic Records. It found the band retreating from the experimentation of Generator and Recipe For Hate and producing a fast and harmonic punk record, perhaps in response to allegations of the band selling out when they signed with Atlantic Records. Songs like "Stranger Than Fiction," and "Incomplete" became instant fan favorites, and the band scored hits with "Infected" and "21st Century (Digital Boy).
The album was certified gold by the RIAA on March 4, 1998.[RIAA Certification]

- All the songs were written by Graffin and Gurewitz, except News From The Front, which was cowritten by Jay Bentley.
- The song "21st Century (Digital Boy)" was already released in 1990 on the album Against the Grain; Sony wanted them to release it again because they couldn't "hear a single" on Stranger Than Fiction.
- The Japan only bonus track "Leaders and Followers" was on the movie Clerks.
- Track No. 13, "Inner Logic" was included on the soundtrack for the video game "Crazy Taxi"
