Stuart Baxter (born August 16, 1953) is an English football manager.

He began his football career as a player in Preston North End FC in 1968. He later went to Sweden to play for Helsingborgs IF, before settling in that country as a coach. His greatest success was in 1998 when he led the AIK side to become Swedish champions. In 2004 he became manager of the South African national team. He left the post after Bafana Bafana failed to qualify for the World Cup in Germany. He accepted an offer for a coaching job at Vissel Kobe in Japan in 2006. This is the second time for him to coach the club following the three years between 1995 and 1997. During his previous tenure, he successfully promoted the club to J.League. Because Vissel Kobe was relegated to the second division J2 at the end of the 2005 season, he is asked to guide the club back to the top flight. He will start a job as manager at Helsingborgs IF in autumn (2006).
