Sub-aerial processes

Encyclopedia : S : SU : SUB : Sub-aerial processes

Sub-aerial processes refer to processes taking place above ground level, with effects on objects on the ground. They refer particularly to the disintegration of rock through processes of weathering (such as freeze thaw effect and thermal expansion), and through the impact of wind and rain. The impacts of sub-aerial processes are most apparent on marine features, such as coastlines and river valleys.
