Jail Sentence
A day after a warrant was issued for his arrest, D12 member Swift was sentenced April 20, 2006 to 93 days in jail for violating terms of his probation in a drunk driving case.
As SOHH previously reported, Swift (born Ondre Moore) failed to make a court appearance on April 20 following the funeral of his slain group mate Proof where he was serving as an honorary pallbearer.
Swift was due in court April 19 for a hearing to determine if he violated terms of his probation stemming from a drunken driving case.
The rapper had been ordered to stay away from drugs and alcohol after pleading guilty last October to operating a vehicle while visibly impaired. Since then, he had tested positive twice for drugs and alcohol and has spent several days in jail.
According to authorities, Swift was found near his Novi, Michigan home and was escorted by police to the court where Judge Mackenzie, who issued the arrest warrant, sentenced him to 93 days in the Oakland County Jail, with 10 days credit for time he previously spent in jail for the same offense.
